Our fire damage restoration process
Are you looking for fire damage restoration services? The flames are out, but the house smells of smoke, soot has settled on everything, and the floors are wet from the hoses. We restore homes and commercial properties after a fire and manage the insurance claim with you, beginning with a free inspection and no commitment.
Step 1. Call and we dispatch
Once the fire department has cleared the property, call us. A person answers 24/7 and a crew is usually with you within the hour. Do not start cleaning soot yourself: wiping it pushes residue deeper into paint, fabric and stone.
Step 2. We assess smoke, soot and water
A fire leaves three kinds of damage: what burned, where smoke and soot travelled, and the water used to put it out. We walk every room, check wet areas with moisture meters and a thermal imaging camera, and record it all in DocuSketch for your insurance.
Step 3. We clean, dry and handle the paperwork
We remove charred and smoke-soaked materials and clean soot from what can be saved. Then we treat the odor at its source and dry the structure to the IICRC standard. We write the loss in Xactimate and bill insurance, and a reconstruction partner takes it from a clean, dry shell.

Is it safe to go back into my home after a fire?
Only after the fire department says so, and then with care. Soot and smoke residue irritate lungs and skin, floors may be wet and slippery, and the electrical system may be damaged. Go in briefly for essentials if you must. We tell you after the inspection which rooms are usable and which should stay closed.
Can the smoke smell really be removed?
Yes, when it is treated at the source. Smoke odor lives in soot and in the porous materials that absorbed it, so air fresheners and repainting only hide it for a while. We remove what cannot be cleaned, clean what can, and deodorize the structure itself. Treated in that order, the odor is dealt with and not masked.
What about the water the firefighters used?
It is part of the same loss and we handle it in the same job. Hose water soaks floors, walls and insulation, and if it sits it causes mold growth on top of the fire damage. We extract it, set drying equipment and dehumidifiers, and take daily moisture readings until the structure is dry.
Will my insurance cover fire damage restoration?
A house fire is the classic covered loss under a homeowners policy, and that usually includes smoke and the water from firefighting. Your policy may also help with living costs if you cannot stay at home, so ask your carrier. We document the loss and bill insurance directly. You pay your deductible.
My house did not burn, but it smells of smoke. Is that something you do?
Yes. Smoke, soot and ash travel a long way past the fire itself, and they settle in attics, in ductwork and in soft materials. We inspect the same way, clean what can be cleaned and deodorize at the source. A home does not have to burn for smoke damage to be an insurance claim, so ask your carrier.
