Our storm damage restoration process
Are you looking for storm damage restoration services? Wind drove rain under the shingles, a window leaked into the wall, or runoff reached the crawl space. We deal with the water a storm puts inside homes and commercial buildings, and a free, no-commitment inspection shows you how far it went.
Step 1. Call and we dispatch
Storms do not keep office hours, and neither does our phone. Call 24/7 and a person will help you limit the damage: buckets, towels, moving what you can. An emergency response crew follows, usually within the hour.
Step 2. We find where the water went
Storm water takes odd routes: a lifted shingle into the attic, a window seal into the wall, the yard into the crawl space. We trace it with a thermal imaging camera and moisture meters and log every room in DocuSketch, including where the water got in.
Step 3. We dry it and handle the paperwork
Wet insulation and ruined drywall come out. Drying equipment and dehumidifiers go in, read daily to the IICRC standard. The point of entry still needs a roofer or a window contractor. We write the loss in Xactimate, bill insurance beyond your deductible and leave it ready for reconstruction.

Does homeowners insurance cover storm water damage?
Often, when the storm created the opening. Rain that enters through wind-damaged roofing or a broken window is the kind of sudden loss most homeowners policies cover. Water that rises from the ground or runs in at grade is usually treated as flood and needs separate cover. We identify how the water got in during a free inspection.
My roof is still leaking. Can you fix it?
We do not repair roofs. We are a restoration company, so our work is the water inside: removing wet insulation and drywall, drying the structure and documenting the loss. You will need a roofer to tarp or repair the roof, ideally before the next rain. We can start drying in the meantime and will work around their schedule.
How soon should wet attic insulation be dealt with?
Quickly. Wet insulation holds water against the ceiling drywall and the framing, and it does not dry well in place. Within days that can mean sagging ceilings and mold growth. We remove what is saturated, dry the framing and tell you what needs replacing, so the roof repair is not covering up a damp attic.
What does storm damage restoration cost?
It depends on how much of the house got wet and what has to come out. We inspect free of charge and price the work in Xactimate, the software insurance companies use, so the estimate your carrier sees is the one you see. If the loss is not covered, 0% financing options are available.
Does calling you start an insurance claim?
No. We inspect, explain what we found and give you an estimate, and none of that is reported to anyone. If it looks like a covered loss and you want to file, we make the first call with you and send the carrier the photos, readings and room records. You sign only when you decide to go ahead.
