How our flood cleanup process works
Are you looking for flood cleanup services? A finished basement took on water, a hose failed and flooded the kitchen, or runoff came in at ground level. We clean up floods in homes and commercial properties, from the first pump to the last moisture reading, and the inspection is free with no commitment.
1Call and we dispatch
When a room floods, call us before you wade in. A person answers 24/7 and tells you what is safe: keep out of standing water near outlets and appliances, and shut off what you can reach. A crew is dispatched at once and usually arrives within the hour.
2We find where the water went
Floodwater spreads sideways under walls and down into whatever is below. We map it with a thermal imaging camera and moisture meters, note the source, and record each room in DocuSketch. Where it came from matters, because it decides how the materials are handled and which policy applies.
3We dry it and handle the paperwork
We pump out the water, remove materials that cannot be cleaned, and run drying equipment and dehumidifiers until daily readings meet the IICRC standard. The file is prepared in Xactimate. On a covered loss you pay the deductible, we bill insurance, and the space is ready for reconstruction.

After a flood in our office recently, Apex completely took care of us in the most professional fashion. Diamind Heating and Cooling works closely with Apex and refer our customers who require remiatiin iver to them. We have been so impressed with their work over the years and will continue to do so. A huge shout out for being able to cut out drywall during the work day, while the office was fully staffed, and not getting dust everywhere as well as helping us relocate filing cabinets to unaffected areas if the office. Apex is the gold standard.

Last Friday night after the horrific hail/rainstorm near Chinden and Locust Grove our basement flooded big time. About 3000 sq ft 95% soaked. We called Apex around midnight and the owner himself drove out to our home. (Unusal for the owner to make a housecall, but they were spread very thin that night due to multiple flooded basements, he explained). He was professional, compassionate and througout that evening. The company mirrored that culture in the days that followed: prompt and thorough mitigation happened within days all with respect for our home. Given the circumstances, we couldn't be more happy with Apex. Heaven forbid, you have a flood; but if you do, this is the company you need.

I am not the type to write reviews, but Apex has been great. I live in the Virginia Park II subdivision in Caldwell, ID and we had a garbage disposal come apart under our sink that flooded our island, part of the kitchen and leaked through the subfloor. Horrible water damage. Apex was very responsive and showed up as soon as we had the leak fixed. They had the island and water damaged floor pieces out and fans and dehumidifiers going that same day. Max stopped by like clockwork to check how dry it was and spray the area to prevent mold growth. They were available 24/7 by txt or phone. Which was great because at one point my grandson had pulled the drain tube out of our drain and the dehumidifier was just pumping water on the floor. So, I reached out to Michael, and he stepped me through what do to and we were back on track. They made sure to protect our house as much as possible while cleaning up the damage caused by the flooing. They also recommended a company they work with to perform the rebuilding of our island and kitchen. Can't wait to get out kitchen back, but Apex has been great to work with throughout this whole ordeal. Would recommend them to anyone, even my parents and grandparents.

Does homeowners insurance pay for flood cleanup?
It depends on the source. Water from inside the house, such as a failed hose or a burst pipe, is the kind of sudden loss a homeowners policy normally covers. Water rising from outside, such as runoff or a creek, usually needs separate flood insurance. We identify the source during a free inspection and tell you which policy it points to.
Is floodwater in my home dangerous?
It can be. Water from a supply line is clean, but water that came in from outside, or that has sat for a few days, can carry bacteria and should not be touched. Stay out of standing water near outlets or appliances. We check the source, treat the water accordingly, and tell you which rooms to avoid.
What should I do in the first hour after a flood?
If you can do so safely, stop the source and turn off power to the wet area at the breaker. Do not walk through standing water to reach it. Move valuables and rugs to a dry room, take a few photos for your records, and call us. We answer at any hour and can have a crew on the way while you are still on the phone.
How long does flood cleanup take?
Pumping out the water is normally done the first day. Drying the structure takes three to five days for most properties, longer for a basement that stayed wet for a while. A technician takes readings every day, and we do not pull equipment early. Your project manager gives you a timeline at the start.
What if my flood is not covered by insurance?
Then you pay the same price an insurance company would. We estimate every job in Xactimate, the software insurers use, so there is one price list. We also offer 0% financing options, and the inspection and estimate are free either way, so you can see the cost before deciding.
